From Master Deputy Stanley Murray from Orange County Sheriff’s Office

The NHTSA National Click It or Ticket campaign starts Monday, May 22, 2017, and runs through Sunday June 4, 2017. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office embraces this important traffic safety effort for adult drivers and passengers with also acknowledging children onboard. Nationwide law enforcement take a united stand with conducting zero-tolerance regarding the use of seatbelt and child safety seat restraint practices during this campaign. The nationwide goal is to reduce the severity of traffic crash injuries and deaths contributed to non-safety belt use. Currently in Orange County, 51% of all fatal and seriously injured victims involved in a traffic crash are NOT BELTED. Your help is needed in this effort to reduce injury or death on our local roadways.

Please encourage to teen and young adult drivers the importance of following seatbelt and child seat safety laws while also being cognizant of traffic control devices on roadways.
